Stephany Uy-Tan, mayor of Catbalogan, Philippines, tells Megan Darby a series of typhoons and the resulting storm surges destroyed 2,500 houses in her city.

Speaking on the sidelines of the ICLEI sustainable cities World Congress in Seoul, she says her administration is planting mangroves and trying to preserve traditional tricycles as a climate-friendly form of transport.
