The bizarre weather being experienced in the US this summer, including wildfires, heatwaves and storms have led many climate scientists to warn that this is “what global warming looks like.”
While scientists are wary to link any one event with climate change, several studies – including a special report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2011 – linked the increasing frequency of such extremes to climate.
The World Meteorological Organisation Calendar is published by Entico in partnership with the World Metrological Organisation (WMO) and is sponsered by Denso, with cartoons from the artist Patrick Chappatte.
