Alan Titchmarsh

Alan Titchmarsh – horticultural curator for the Garden Party – talks about how divorced people are from what happens in the soil. He says people should try and be careful about what they spray in their gardens. “Sometimes you have to have the life you don’t want…your garden is a small patch on the enormous patchwork quilt that is Britain.” He notes the seasons have slid, and more tender things are growing outdoors all year round, but then again the Romans had grapes in Yorkshire.  He says climate does shift, but we need to make sure we  don’t exacerbate it.
