Annie Petsonk

Annie Petsonk, the international counsel for the Environmental Defense Fund, considers the initiatives occuring outside of the main negotiation  process. In particular she looks the Paris-Oslow process to generate fast-track financing for reducing deforestation in developing countries. She mentions the high-level advisory group on finance and the hope that offers. She notes that expectations on public finance are very high and that the next challenge will be how to creatively  engage the private sector on adaptation and mitigation. She advocates that nations maintain and expand carbon markets to generate investment in technology transfer, and encourages the pursuit of people to people finance.
