COP20 (09/12/14) – Johnson tells RTCC that during the Kyoto Protocol their company installed 33 gas collection systems and flare systems which took gas from landfills to combustion devices removing over 99% of the methane. She explains that in developing countries where natural gas is expensive, methane can be used to run cars and power homes. There are multiple uses for free methane gas generated from landfill and waste water treatment plants.
