Victor Biwot, SOCK

Victor has come to COP21 to represent smallholder farmers from Kenya. His main aim is to add to the voices calling on developed countries to cut down on their carbon emissions. He explains how the impacts of climate change are being felt today by farmers in Kenya. Prolonged drought, unexpected excessive rain, and frosts destroy crops. So far Victor hasn’t seen much on the ground action from the Kenyan government in helping farmers adapt to climate change, in his experience only fairtrade organisations have been active in advising farmers.
