Nele Marien is Forests and Biodiversity Programme Coordinator for Friends of the Earth international. Prior to that, Nele spent many years in Bolivia, first working as a policy advisor for a grassroots peasant cooperatives' movement, and later as a climate change negotiator for the Bolivian Government at the UNFCCC.
