COP19: Svend Søyland on super pollutants

COP19 (20/11/13) – Svend Søyland a Senior International Advisor for The Bellona Foundation an environmental NGO based in Oslo speaks about tackling greenhouse gases.

He speaks about super pollutants and the problem they cause. The Montreal protocol has worked well, being the most successful environmental convention, in tacking HFC’s.

Black carbon however still needs to be tackled and the health impact it has can be more lethal that Malaria. He talks about their research in Russia on this topic and the conventions and initiatives that can be used to tackle this issue.
