COP19 (15/11/13) – Ho Chin Siong & Mohd. Azraai Kassim of the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) talk about the research their university is doing to champion sustainable issues.

They say that their university has been championing sustainability issues for the last five years.

With 100 researchers in their alliance they are currently focusing on three major areas – low carbon societies for Malaysia, an environmental performance index for Malaysia and next year they are launching a new five-year partnership with The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The new partnership will aim to further research sustain able cities.

The University has already published material on a low carbon society. With their research and publications they hope to translate science into policy making. At COP19 they are holding a side event to showcase their work.
