COP19 (18/11/13) – Mattia Romani of the Global Green Growth Institute talks about the benefits of green growth.

He says that the Green Growth Institute is working in around 20 countries and he feels that green growth largely meets the national objectives of many countries.

Green growth can help countries meet the economic needs and development aspirations of its people. It makes sense for countries to change their model of economic growth in this direction because it can lead to a decrease in unemployment, efficient use in natural resources, energy independence and global emissions reduction. People will embrace green growth because it meets their needs.

He names Ethiopia among others as key success stories when it comes to green growth.
