COP19: Yeb Saño calls for commitments on loss and damage

COP19 (14/11/13) Naderev “Yeb” Saño talks about Typhoon Haiyan that has hit his nation as well as his voluntary fast for the climate.

Yeb is fasting in solidarity with those, including his brother, that have been and still are affected by Typhoon Haiyan. He says that he is in high spirits and feels better than he did when he first arrived in Warsaw. He confirmed that he was only taking liquids and no food for the duration of his fast.

When asked what he saw as a meaningful outcome from these sets of talks he said there were two top things: progress on the discussions on loss and damage and to clarify commitments from rich countries on finance so that countries like the Philippines could adapt and cope with the ravages of climate change.
