COP18: Education on climate change will empower teenagers

COP18 (26/11/12) – Georgia Schmitt from the School of Environmental Studies Education Foundation in Minnesota talks to the Climate Change Studio about the importance of young people learning about the international climate change negotiations and being empowered to make future decisions and improve the process.

She says the group will be blogging and using Skype to relay their messages back home and aim to also have an impact there. She said the climate change awareness of teenagers in Minnesota is worryingly low.

She talks about how important it is for better education on climate change, both in the classroom and the community to break down the complex topic and show people how climate change affects all aspects of life.
