CBD COP11: Access to safe, clean water is at core of biodiversity

Rio Conventions Pavilion TV, CBD COP11 (16/10/2012) – Lauren Alcorn, Special Project Manager (India) for One Drop, explains the work of her organisation seeking to facilitate access to safe, clean water across the globe.

Alcorn explains that her organisation recognises access to water as vital for all life and biodiversity, which moved them to attend CBD COP11.

Alcorn recounts that One Drop was founded by Guy Laliberté – the founder of the Cirque du Soleil – to develop access to safe water in rural areas of less developed nations as well as to run education and awareness programs in Canada and the USA.

Alcorn explains her work with One Drop in India where they have collaborated with local NGOs, especially those with a creative outlook, to ensure that their work is as effective as possible and in an area where they will have the greatest impact.
