Marcelo Ebrard

Marcelo Ebrard, Mayor of Mexico City, considers the progress of the  Mexico City Pact, also known as the Global Cities Covenant on Climate. This voluntary commitment to report emissions to the carbonn City Climate  Registry started out as a leading-by-example initiative to show national governments that it is possible to monitor, verify and reduce emissions. Marcelo Ebrard also discusses the issue of security explaining how this isn’t a problem for Mexico City, but how the evolution of green towns may help with this. He outlines the steps they have taken in terms of adaptation and mitigation.
