Rio+20 (21/06/2012) – Anne Nuorgam, Saami Council, talks about the NGO she works fro which represents the Saami people in Finland, Sweden, Russia and Norway. She says indigenous people are on the major stakeholders at the conference but that they differ from others, as they are the custodians of traditional knowledge.

She says they are calling for a rights based approach to sustainable development, and they indigenous people’s right to the land and natural resources should be acknowledged.
