Rio+20 (19/06/2012) – Enrique Peñalosa, Former Mayor of Bogotá, talks to Pavilion TV about the need to get the right infrastructure in place for pedestrians and cyclists. He says even in the world giant cities many many trips could be done by bicycles as more than half of the population will live less than 5 km away from their place of work.

He says that better quality sidewalks and high quality protected bicycle ways are need not only to protect citizens in large cities but also to raise the social status of cyclists – as cycling normal has a stigma attached that is only something done by low income citizens.
