Rio+20 (17/06/2012) –Patrice Burger, Tanveer Arif and Emmanuel Seck from Drynet talk about the importance of civil society in the UNCCD secretariat and to contributing to the fight against desertification.

They say the role of civil society is huge in the international convention and without this involvement nothing would get done. They describe civil society as the core partners of the UNCCD both in terms of conveying information back to the field and to the stakeholders involved in desertification and also bringing the voice of the field into the international foray and the decision making progress.
