Rio+20: Empowering youth in Ghana on sustainable development

Rio+20 (15/06/2012) – David Aburabura, Assistant Programmes Director at Curious Minds explains the work that the organisation is doing to empower young people in Ghana to push for the issues that effect them, including environmental, climate change and development issues.

He explains that they are attending the conference to make sure the agreements signed up to in Brazil are taken home and implemented back in Ghana and that young people from the country are not only listened to but that their opinions are taken on board and decisions makers work with what they say.

They aim to give children the relevant information – including documents from the UN and country specific documents – which will help to participate in the debates going on at the conference.
