John Ashe

Antigua and Barbuda’s John Ashe, United Nations Ambassador and chair of the AWG on the Kyoto Protocol, details his hopes for establishing a second commitment period for Annex I countries, in line with IPCC recommendations for emissions reductions. He says the “current level of ambition” is too low for the required aggregate targets. He remarks that the US are expected to make “comparable efforts” outside of the Protocol.
