Kunihiko “Kuni” Shimada

Japanese delegate Kuni Shimada, chair of the technology group, talks about the success of that group and its mandate to start drafting negotiations, and the imperative for technology transfer from richer to poorer countries. He describes the food and energy security challenges Japan faces and finishes on its regional relationships and the country’s self-imposed “ambitious” targets, and urges other industrialised countries to do the same. This “cannot be solved by one single person or one single country,” he says. Also see Kunihiko Shimada speaking from Copenhagen, Bangkok in 2009, and Bonn in June 2009
