Dr Uyar’s work is to support and try to understand the problems of the environment, energy and ecology in Turkey. He discusses that the rise of renewables started after the petroleum crisis in the late 70’s. He explains how know that we have renewable energy technology which is also the cheapest option such as PV solar, wind, LED lighting and electric vehicles.  What we need now is for decision makers to facilitate the clean energy revolution in going further. Dr Tanay talks about the importance of renewables in terms of conflict free energy, that works within the constraints of nature and the need for community access to energy.  For renewables to be a solution, we need a smart grid structure and advocate the crucial need to store renewable energy.
