Bishop Ibrahim Saidy, Islamic Council of Norway

Bishop Saidy explains that the basic role religion has to play is to draw global leaders attention to the ethical and moral issues involved in climate change. He tells Climate Home that the declaration on climate change by muslim leaders a few months ago was a milestone event. The declaration addressed 1.6 billion muslims across the globe to wake up to a reality of climate change. Finally, Bishop Saidy is looking for justice and compassion from the COP21 towards poorer and weaker nations. He wants global leaders to match rhetoric with action.
