Lee explains that many companies are interested in strategic planning and mitigation assessments. ERM helps companies cut costs through energy efficiency, efficient tools, and use of renewable energy. Lee explains that while some companies are interested in green business, most are traditional industry operators specialising in energy or energy intensive manufacturing. These companies need to showcase a friendly face to shareholders and customers and ERM helps them tell a story based on real emissions reductions. ERM’s analysis on the INDCs found four types of commitments, some are absolute others are relative against a baseline. For ERM customers the INDC structure means companies need to adapt their reductions strategy to suit each countries commitment.
