Bruce Dunn, Senior Environment Specialist, Asian Development Bank, (RSES), Philippines talks about the Asian Development Bank’s work tackling poverty alleviation in the Asia-Pacific region.

He says the GEF 5th Assembly was “interesting” after announcing it was replenishing its funds with 4.4. billion dollars to support global environmental development.

Dunn explains how the Asian Development Bank is also supporting investment in sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region – in particular in clean energy, sustainable transport and biodiversity conservation – by providing loans, grants and financial services for example.

One of the bank’s projects includes a green cities programme in South East Asia which works with the governments of Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Vietnam to assess what opportunities are available to make their cities more sustainable.
