COP19 (21/11/13) -Frank Cownie the Mayor of City of Des Moines ,Iowa, speaks about the climate impacts that have affected his city.

He says that his city has been hit by extreme weather impacts as well as adverse affects to their agriculture. He says there is great focus on protecting citizens as well as mitigation, adaptations and most importantly become a resilient community.

The advantages of coming to a conference like this is that as a Mayor he can engage with national government, other local governments and also mayors from across the world and share best practices.
